A bitter pill must be swallowed today. It’s “Debt Day”, Foxnews reports. As of today the revenues of the government are officially not sufficient to pay for the rest of the year’s expenditures. For the rest of 2009, everything that the US government needs will be purchased with borrowed money. This fiscal year goes through [...]

Unlocking the Wonders of the Liberal Mind & Tea Time
All over America today, people are taking to governmental locales with representations of tea bags to protest the hearty spending of our new President (the man who is playfully referred to by GooseRadio as The Child. If you are a political junkie you already know what it’s all aboot, but if not suffice it to say that people are harking back to the Boston Tea Party of the 1770s in which colonists dressed as native warriors went ape on a British merchant vessel carrying tea. These folks were displeased that King George III and his parliamentary hosers were hefting taxes on the 13 Colonies in the wake of Britain’s dust up with France for control of North America. While it’s an interesting idea to intertwine this patriotic vandalism of yester-year with a fervent desire for The Child to staunch the flow of trillions from Washington, I do think the Tea Parties are missing the mark ever so slightly. I’ll explain! But first…
Mariners / Twins Goose-cap

Well that was fun! Nothing like a little 9th inning heroics to get the juices cooking! That is a Dale Brickma (played by Daniel Stern in Rookie of the Year) reference for those of you keeping score at home. Mr. Casilla turned a disappointing (although hardly weep-worthy) evening into a rallying point for the ball club when he popped a single up the middle and scored two runs. Bert Be-Home-Blyleven had the presence of mind to mention that Alexi was the one responsible for plating the go ahead run in the greatest game ever played! That, I submit, was last August 25th when the Twins came back from being down big with an innane rally culminating in a blown save by the corpulent Robert Jenks of the hated Pale Stockings.
The Twins Opener – Recap & Liveblog

Well, the season has begun! Sadly, we took the loss against the Mariners, but reading this moment by moment commentary will console you because I am so delightfully witty. We pick things up in the 3rd, with the Twins down 1 to 0 to Seattle.
8:05 – Good gravy in the morning. Adrain Beltre has a potent arm. He has thrown out the youthful Casilla on a difficult play far to his left.
8:08 – He (Beltre), also appears to have very hard knees. The youthful Punto strayed off third and the Mariners catcher threw behind him. Punto attempted to flee back to the plate and was harpooned by Beltre’s knee. Beltre appeared genuinely concerned for the small man. Everyone is OK.
